As expected, the number of employers signed up for the Thursday, May 18 Caldwell is Hiring has reached the building’s capacity. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. until Noon at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir.


Caldwell County Economic Development Commission Executive Director Deborah Murray said she had expected to hit the limit of 50 employers early, and she informed the Caldwell EDC Board of Directors that employer registrations are now closed.


“We are full and we cannot take any more,” Murray said.


The 50 employers who will be at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center for the twice-annual job fair will be trying to fill more than 2,700 jobs, Murray said.


“This is the most diverse group yet of employers we have seen,” Murray said.


One new element that organizers are trying to work out for this Caldwell is Hiring will be to bus in some graduating high school seniors who are looking for summer jobs or a start on their post-graduation careers, Murray said.
