Caldwell Economic Development Commission
Launches "Project Homefront"
Lenoir, NC --In addition to attracting out-of-state businesses to Caldwell County NC with economic development grants, NC relocation incentives and business relocation services, Caldwell Economic Development Commission is helping local businesses take advantage of existing resources in their own backyard with Project Homefront, a comprehensive business retention expansion program.
Previously done by volunteers, Project Homefront garners the talents of the staff of the Commission and the Chamber of Commerce to visit with 2,000 businesses in Caldwell County NC and find out if any of their needs or problems, such as supply chain issues, can be solved by neighboring businesses.
"Our goal," explained Alan Wood, the commission's senior development manager, "is to help businesses run efficiently by taking advantage of local resources whenever possible. This scenario leads to economic growth and more jobs, thereby increasing North Carolina employment figures."
The Caldwell EDC serves to encourage job creation, retention and investment and establish Caldwell County as a desirable destination for business, industry, retirement and tourism.

There is a tremendous amount of support for businesses of any size in our county, from a host of various sources including the EDC and Chamber staff, community college, city and county officials and from business leaders themselves. We are in the beginning stages of a progressive, strategic initiative we are calling Caldwell 20/20 which will provide a focused directive for us to follow so we may more appropriately leverage our strengths as we develop our economic infrastructure for the 21st century economy.
