Caldwell County Receives Grant for Evergreene Industrial Park
The Appalachian Regional Commission announced today approval of a $513,425 grant for the county’s Evergreene Industrial Park in Sawmills.
“Since 2021, the county has been working with the Town of Sawmills to develop the Evergreene Park,” said Caldwell County Board of Commissioners Chairman Randy Church. “And this grant is a significant contribution to the development of that park in southern Caldwell County.”
Specifically, grant funding will be used to extend water and sewer lines to the 30-acre site, which is envisioned to ultimately include five 50,000 square foot building pads.
“As we install infrastructure on the site, our Economic Development team will be working to recruit companies to call the Evergreene Park home,” said Church. “We look forward to seeing the park develop and bring industry to an economically distressed area along our industrial and rail corridor.”
In addition to ARC funds, local sources will provide $513,425, bringing the total project funding to $1,026,850.
