Data Centers

Blue Ridge Energy building exteriorCaldwell County sits at the heart of a region that’s fast becoming a data center hot spot. Google chose Lenoir, NC for a data center because of energy infrastructure, developable land and available workforce. In fact, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook have facilities in this region of Western Piedmont because of the energy and water assets.

A major fiber network runs along Hwy 321 and is about to get even better. Blue Ridge Energy will use a state grant to expand the data line to give the mountainous regions of our county high-speed internet.

Put simply, we have what data centers need in Caldwell County.

Caldwell County Workforce Training Advantages

“Caldwell County has proven to be an outstanding location for Google’s North Carolina data center. It has the right combination of available resources (power, water, land), a strong business environment, great quality of life and unique attributes such as the customized job training program available through CCC&TI.” Enoch Moeller Solutions Consultant Manager Google, Inc

“Finding an area that had already been chosen by Google as a data center location, with a megawatt-scale infrastructure, was a win-win combination for us. With the county’s help we renovated an existing facility and had an operational data center in six months. Seeing Apple announce its nearby datacenter shortly thereafter reaffirmed our belief that Caldwell County is one of the best locations on the east coast to build and operate a datacenter.” CentriLogic
