This morning's EDAC (Economic Development Advisor Committee) meeting was hosted by Foothills Regional Airport - Thank You!. After the meeting everyone was given a tour of the airport. Another great asset that makes Caldwell County such a great place to live in and do business. Here is a little example of what they saw.
On September 28th the Caldwell County Commerce Center celebrated a 30 year anniversary. Throughout 2023 the facility has gone through a complete renovation and this celebration is a thank you to all who helped during the process. Also this marked the retirement of Bobby White, a 52 year employee who was awarded membership in the Longleaf Pine society at this event.
The changes keep coming at the Caldwell County Commerce Center. This time it is courtesy of Hammary/Kincaid/La-Z-Boy, local furniture manufacturers. The quality workmanship of the new sofa, chair and tables will be showcased to future visitors at Caldwell County Economic Development for years to come! Today, Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, Caldwell County leaders, and City of Lenoir officials joined the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the grand opening of Wild Fork Foods, a division of JBS. The new two-story 80,000-square-foot facility houses one of the largest production tunnel freezers ever built and will produce single serve, frozen proteins. Since 2014, Caldwell County has partnered with JBS on several job creation projects. Ted Abernathy, founder and managing partner for Economic Leadership was the keynote speaker at a recent Industry Appreciation Luncheon, sponsored by Caldwell County Economic Development. The emphasis of his address was the trends in the recent economy of the country, state and in particular Caldwell County. Mr. Abernathy presented details about the recent past and what might be in the near future.
