The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded North Carolina a $900,000 State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) grant to help small businesses across the state increase their access to and reach in global markets.
The STEP program provides financial awards to states and U.S. territories to assist small businesses in exporting, such as travel costs for trade shows, e-commerce support and marketing assistance. The 2023-2024 funding period is the 11th year of the program, which to date has administered over $200 million dollars.
