UNC Pulmonology is the first in North Carolina to utilize the Galaxy System, according to a press release from UNC Health.
The Galaxy System is a robotic-assisted lung navigation tool that allows your lung doctor to access suspicious tissue in the lungs that may be challenging to reach with traditional methods. The system is minimally invasive and enables more accurate biopsies, diagnosis and treatment. The purchase of the new technology is possible through the support of the Caldwell Memorial Hospital Foundation, according to the press release.
