The Caldwell County Economic Development (CCED) is dedicated to ensuring success here in Caldwell County, NC! The CCED was founded in 2009 and has accomplished many great things in that time. They have been persistent about diversifying and building up the county’s economy. The county has seen an increase in the diversity of industries, adding more than 50 industries since the CCED’s arrival.
The CCED has also assisted in repurposing and filling over 4.2 million square feet of industrial and commercial space that was vacant after the 2008 recession. Prior to the recession, Caldwell County’s economy was mainly dependent on the furniture and textile manufacturing industries. But now, thanks to the CCED, the county’s economy has grown thanks to diversifying the industries located here! Caldwell County ranked 20th out of North Carolina’s 100 counties for wage growth in 2023. Since 2015, wages have grown an impressive 51.5%.
