Excitement buzzed throughout Boone Lumber’s new office building on Friday, April 19, as preparations were made for a ribbon-cutting event marking the Lenoir business’ 60th anniversary. The anniversary featured a meal and prominent appearances from owner John Green, family and friends, Lenoir and Caldwell leadership and others.
The story of Boone Lumber began in 1964 when John Greene found a job opportunity working with family at a local lumber company. Greene had an opportunity to buy into the business six months later and became sole owner by 1967, according to the company website. The read the full story, click here.
